THIS IS US

We are a team of rebels passionate about thrilling stories captured on film.  

Founded in 2019 by Jay Douglas, Rebellion  Studios is a film & television production company based in Pasadena, California and Sydney, Australia.  Over the last few years, we have produced three feature films, each of which we partially financed.

Across Easter week of 2020, our first film CODE 8 debuted on Netflix and quickly hit "#1 Movie" across more than 50 territories, including US, Canada, Europe, Asia and Australia.   We credit the great work of director Jeff Chan and the Canadian team.  The entire process was humbling and inspiring.   

In 2021, our second film, the critically acclaimed sport-drama STREAMLINE, co-produced with Olympic legend Ian Thorpe, was picked up by STAN.  

In 2022, Rebellion's third film was the Russell Crowe-directed thriller POKER FACE.  It was co-produced by SKY and starred Liam Hemsworth, Crowe, Elsa Pataky and RZA.  

We are developing several Features and TV  Series, with a focus on thrillers, sci-fi/thrillers, and action content.

Commercial director Jay Douglas will make his feature debut with the near-future sci-fi/thriller DEATH DEFIER, to be filmed across Australia in late 2023.
